Storage Node Outage in Great Britain Canceled
uuxo.net has discontinued the use of its storage node in Great Britain due to severe performance issues with the GB Terabyte Node. The node was already in operation but performed poorly, with limited bandwidth and frequent failures. These issues rendered the provider unsuitable, leading to the termination of the contract. As an emergency measure, uuxo.net has switched back to Hetzner, using Falkenstein as the new storage node. However, this move temporarily reduces storage capacity from 2.4TB to 200GB.
Despite the reduced capacity, uuxo.net is leveraging its HMAC server with data deduplication technology, significantly optimizing storage usage and reducing the required space. This ensures efficient utilization of the available 200GB while maintaining reliable operations.
Looking ahead, uuxo.net plans to transition to a new storage solution on 01.02.2025 with the following specifications:
This upgraded infrastructure will provide a robust and scalable foundation for future growth, ensuring enhanced performance, increased storage capacity, and improved reliability. Additionally, the company is exploring a potential rewrite of the HMAC File Server to better integrate with block storage nodes, further solidifying its commitment to long-term operational excellence.
